Why I'm Running: A Letter to the People of Migori
Today, I am officially announcing my candidacy for Governor of Migori County in the 2027 general election. Here is why.
Dear Migori,
Today, I am officially announcing my candidacy for Governor of Migori County in the 2027 general election on the ODM ticket.
This decision was not made lightly. It is the culmination of a lifetime of service — as a teacher in our schools, as a founder of the Rongo Education Trust, as MP for Rongo Constituency, and as a son of this county's sugar belt.
I am running because I believe leadership is not about privilege. It is about service.
I am running because too many Migori residents struggle with unpaid cane deliveries, with unsafe gold mines, with unsafe fishing on Lake Victoria, with poor healthcare, and with youth unemployment.
I am running because we can change this — through honest leadership, accountable devolution, and inclusive development that works for every ward.
Join me. Together, we can build a Migori that works for everyone.
